  • October, 17 2015, West Philly African & Caribbean Festival (AfriC Fest):The kickoff of AfriC Fest took place at Clark Park on 10/17. The successful cultural event helped promote an “open, friendly, and hospitable environment for immigrants and people of all backgrounds, to come and celebrate the diverse cultures woven into our West Philly community.  Our long term goal is to break down the barriers among the communities in West Philly and work in solidarity with one another.   • September, 19 2015, Philly African Cup of Nations for Peace (PACONP) Palms Solutions Annual Soccer Tournament:  We have been gratified by the presence of different organizations including Penn Medicine, the Philadelphia Union, MOIMA, UNAGP, the Pearsons family(moon bounce) and Rickie & Maria, our great chefs who made us indulged in great food.  In addition, we have had food from different countries, as well as coffee and tea specially prepared from diverse parts of the African continent. Moreover, our colorful and well designed cultural attires brought a sweet aroma of brotherhood and interconnectedness to the event.   • June 14, 2015 Palms Solutions attended and successfully contributed to the World Bank first Diaspora Forum titled “Engaging the African Diaspora in Trade, Investment & Skills Forum”. The event brought together stakeholders from different business backgrounds as well as grassroots organizations to discuss best strategies for a sustainable partnership between the World bank and other stakeholders.

  • January 1/25/2015 Palms Solutions along with Penn medicine embarked on influenza vaccination to communities impacted by Ebola. The outbreak and public health response may have had unintended results of restricted healthcare access for persons from those countries. Also, the current influenza Epidemics has the potential to complicate the healthcare needs of this community given the similarities in symptomatology between EVD and the flu and the possibility that persons from Ebola Affected Communities infected with influenza may delay care for fear of being screened for EVD.
